Can a nonimmigrant alien (F-1 on a student visa) in the USA, fly domestically with an expired driver's license as the passport is lost (re-applied/application in process)? The short answer is yes you can fly with only a expired drivers License. However here is a better idea. Make and appointment with CA DMV. Im assuming youre in California. or Any State DMV. And get and ID card. it only costs about $20, and that will be current. Just tell DMV you lost or cant find your DL. dont turn it in, because DMV will ask for the old one and confiscate that from you. But if you lost or had it stolen they cant do that. Now you can travel domestically they dont ask for passports on domestic flights and DL are still adequate to purchase a flight ticket and to pass through TSA checkpoints. if you like this answer or find it helpful please give me an upvote below - Thanks
